This summer, High 5 Sports are running holiday sports camps in Folkestone, Ashford, Canterbury and Dover. For those of you who have heard of us previously and have brought your children along, you would be familiar with the different camps and days that we run and the activities involved in each. However, we thought it would be a good idea to explain it a little further here.

What do I need to bring with me?
If it is your first time with us, we ask that you print off and complete our Activity Consent form found here
Children will need to bring a sufficient amount of drinks as we will be running around a lot at our Sports Camp. Cartons are acceptable but we prefer bottles with screw tops or sports tops so as to avoid spillages and helps up to refill.
During the summer please ensure your child comes with sun cream applied.
During the autumn/winter months please make sure your child has a coat and/or a warm jacket .
Sensible footwear is required at all times – toes must be covered.
To avoid losing possessions PLEASE label CLEARLY your child’s name on their jackets and lunch boxes.
Theme days – what do I need to bring with me?
Wet Wild n Wacky – please bring a towel (you are more than welcome to wear swimming suits), spare change of clothes (atleast two t-shirts and shorts), warm clothing. We kindly ask that parents help us out by filling and bringing in 50 water balloons.
Star Wars/Pirate/Mission Spy/SuperHero Day – We encourage children to dress up during these days although it is not essential. Prizes shall be awarded for the best dressed. PLEASE LABEL YOUR COSTUME.
Children are more than welcome to bring their own lightsabers and pirate swords although we accept no responsibility for any damage or losses that may occur.
Camps run at Three Hills Sports Park from 9am – 3:30pm daily. The cost per day is £20 or £95 for the full week. Upon arrival you will see one or two desks to where you can sign you child in for the day. You would be required to fill in a consent form on arrival, or you can print one and fill it in before you arrive by clicking here. At Three Hills, you can also order a hot lunch for your child(ren) if you do not wish to prepare a packed lunch.
Camps run at Ashford School in the town centre from 9am – 4pm daily. The cost is £20 per day or £95 for the full week. On arrival, park in the sports hall car park on the left and sign in will be in the sports hall reception.You would be required to fill in a consent form on arrival, or you can print one and fill it in before you arrive by clicking here. A packed lunch is required and we will also ask that you pack your child’s swimming kit and towel as on many days we will be doing swimming here.
On those days with swimming scheduled, your child will be swimming at 14:00 – 15:00. Please make sure your child has the correct kit and any additional swimming aids they may need.
Some of our Coaches will be in the water with the children and there shall be a qualified lifeguard supervising our session.
Camps run at Guston Primary School (CT15 5LR) from 9am – 4pm daily. The cost is £20 per day or £90 for the full week. On arrival, park in the school car park or on the road outside and sign in is just to the left of reception. You would be required to fill in a consent form on arrival, or you can print one and fill it in before you arrive by clicking here. A packed lunch is required.
How to book
We wanted to make booking for our camps as easy as possible. Quite simply you can book for single days or full weeks in either Ashford or Folkestone by clicking book now in the top right hand of the screen. At the checkout specify the dates and the camp you want to come to. For example you might book a full week for “Soccer School, 1st – 5th August”. Our team will pick this up and add you to the right register. If you want to come to lots of single days, simply increase the quantity of days and add the dates at the checkout. A little about us..
This might be the first time you have heard of High 5 Sports and if so, thanks for stopping by. High 5 Sports is a team of PE teachers and sport coaches that provides PE provision and sports coaching during term time and holiday camps during school holidays. The team is headed up by Ian Harris, formerly the Head of PE at Simon Langton Grammar School, Canterbury and our team of 9 coaches combined hold degrees (many in sports coaching and Physical Education), national governing body coaching qualifications and awards. All staff are fully DBS checked, insured and first aid trained.
What we do
Across the five weeks of summer we will be running three types of camps; Soccer School, Fun-days and multisports. Fun-days and Soccer School camps run alongside each other on the same weeks, however are separate camps and activities in themselves. Children choose either to come to Soccer School or Fun-days. Fun-days are themed activities days that involve fun games and sports around a particular theme. On some occasions, we bring in specialised equipment or qualified personnel to teach a particular activity to the children, such as trampolining or outdoor activities (in the case of the residential).
On week 5 we will once again be running a three day gymnastics camp in Folkestone. This is a specialised three day camp where children receive gymnastics and trampolining coaching. This camp is suitable for beginner/intermediate primary gymnasts.

The Fun Days
We get asked a lot what each day means, so we thought it would be best to provide short explanations here.
Multi-sports and Trampolining
Organised sporting competitions throughout the day between teams of children (teams based on age and/or confidence in a particular sport) Time will be spent on learning the basics of many sports such as: basketball, dodgeball, rounders, cricket, tennis, hockey and athletics which will then progress to fun mini competitions where prizes are awarded! Children will rotate between multisports and trampolining throughout the day learning from experienced trampoline coaches.
The Ultimate Spy experience. Children will learns specific spy skills throughout the day through numerous games; tasks and challenges culminating in an exciting mission of ‘Capture the Coach’. Camouflage face paint, bandanas and spy vests are available all day!
NERF GUN Battles
We play a number of fun exciting games with nerf guns, such as capture the flag and other numerous challenges. All children wear protective googles when playing and the coaches ensure that children do not fire too close to each other, and that no shots are done above shoulder height.
Crazy Games/ Bouncy Castle
Team games and individual competitions with a chocolate madness twist! In addition, children will have the opportunity to spend time on a large inflatable obstacle course racing each other…and the coaches!
Rio 2016 Olympics
Mimicking the Rio 2016 Olympics children will be put into teams at the beginning of the day choosing whichever nation they would like to represent! With the main focus being on athletics, teams will have the chance to demonstrate their skills in javelin, shot put, 100m/200m sprint/hurdles, long jump and relay races athletic competitions; basketball tournaments, football and much more. Additionally there will be competitions in basketball, football and cricket.
Wet Wild and Wacky
Our favourite day of the Summer! Water Balloon Sit, Soggy Sponge Carry, Water fights, Cannonball Run and a huge Water Slide are just some of the activities this day has to offer in the summer sunshine! Please remember to bring with you a towel, a warm jumper (even when the sun is shining), spare shoes and socks or shoes that you do not mind getting wet. Children will be playing water games (weather providing) all day so please ensure your child is equipped with spare clothing.
We have plenty of lightsabers and star wars themed music to make this day a Star Wars experience! Exciting games such as: Who Am I?; Find the Jedi; Race of the Jedi; Darth Maul Mash and many more give children the chance to win prizes and play the part of their favourite Star Wars character. Dress up as your favourite character as prizes shall be awarded to best dressed!
Pirates of the Caribbean
Play the part of a mischievous pirate in our Pirate Catcher game; walk the plank as part of our pirate obstacle course or steal the keys from the Pirates chair without waking him up! These games and many more shall fill your day with Pirate Madness! Dress up as your favourite pirate as prizes shall be awarded to best dressed!
Where do we sign in/out?
Football Academy’s sign in desk will be located towards the fire exit, next to the vending machines.
Football Acadmey’s sign out desk will be located on the football pitch – please walk out to meet your children.
Fun Days’ sign in/out desk will be located just outside the sports hall on your left as you walk in.
Signing out is ESSENTIAL. Please make sure you sign out before collecting your child.
Sign in/sign out desk shall be outside the Sports Building located down the path from the Car park.
What are your toilet procedures?
Coaches will give toilet breaks throughout the day and children shall be accompanied by a coach to the toilet and wait outside until the children are ready to return to the activity.
No child will be allowed to go to the toilet on their own.
How often do you do breaks?
We will have drinks breaks throughout the day in both Football and Fun Days.
We will have one mid morning break at 11-11.25am in the canteen where children can have a snack. (If you child is having a hot dinner (Folkestone), it is encouraged to send them with a snack for this break)
Lunch shall be from 12.30 – 13.30 in the canteen (times may vary slightly).
Does my child need a packed lunch?
Children can bring a packed lunch.
Three Hills Sports Park offers a hot lunch ranging from £2.00 to £4.00. The menu will be at the sign-in desk.
There are no hot lunches offered at Ashford.
Where do you keep your lost property?
All lost property is kept with our equipment for the duration of the Camp. We empty our lost property within a month after camps.
